GALAPAGOS Is.

This elephant seal card comes from the legendary Galapagos Islands, home to many unique species and where Darwin crystalized his theory of evolution while observing local finches. The card was sent with a lovely Ecuadorian stamp featuring a Jaguar.

CENTRAL AFRICAN REP.

This lovely handpainted card comes from Bangui, Central African Rep. and shows a typical village scene of traditional dwellings. The stamps depict local fruits and a chameleon in the wild.

MAYOTTE

This amazing card comes from the French territory of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean, and shows local scenery, fauna and coastal views

CONGO

This UNESCO card shows endangered wildlife, and came franked with two recent Rep. of Congo stamps, one showing a traditional mask. Awesome!

PAPUA NEW GUINEA

This amazing card from PNG shows a variety of birds of paradise, which are endemic to the island of New Guinea. The card was posted from Laucala Beach, Fiji, and franked with overprinted issues on a definitive birds issue.

NAMIBIA

This stunning long format card came to me recently from a friend visiting Namibia, and shows a sampling of the stark and stunning landscapes of this arid country. To my delight, the card came franked with a recent bird issue featuring the Dune Lark.

FIJI

Two recent cards from Fiji showing island landscapes, fish, beaches and several stamps from a recent birds definitive series.

TANZANIA

This lovely card shows Mt. Kilimanjaro with insets of birds, wildlife and scenery from N. Tanzania. The stamps were spectacular as well!

TOGO

This lovely card shows a Togolese villager with typical braided hair, and came franked with very showy stamps commemorating Rotary and the birth of Copernicus

ATIU, Cook Islands

This lovely card shows the colorful Rimatara Lorikeet, which is endemic to the Polynesian region, and recently reintroduced onto Atiu Island as well as several islands of Kiribati.

Amsterdam Is., French Southern Antarctic Terr.

This lovely card of the profile of Amsterdam Island was sent from this remote outpost in the southern Atlantic. It bears a 53c stamp from Fr. Antarctic Terr.

ALGERIA

This lovely card shows a spring scene and flowers in the Aures region of Algeria, with a sweeping landscape view from the hills to the sea. It was franked with a local flowers issue showing petunias in bloom.

PITCAIRN Is.

This lovely island scene was posted from what is perhaps the smallest stamp issuing territory in the world, with just under 50 inhabitants. The island is famed for its rugged beauty and stormy history, dating to the mutiny of the Bounty in 1789.

ZAMBIA

Majestic Victoria Falls, on the Zambezi River, forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. This card was mailed from S. Africa with stamps showing local traditional handcrafts

PAPUA NEW GUINEA

This lovely card shows Nuratu island, in Milne Bay Province in northern Papua New Guinea; the card was franked with a stamp showing a reef fish species

GABON

This stunning card shows one of the famous inselbergs of Gabon's interior; these rocky plateau-like outcroppings rise unexpectedly from the green forest of the surrounding landscape, seemingly surreal

GRAND TURK, Turks and Caicos Is.

This lovely card comes from the Turks and Caicos, a British Territory adjacent to the Bahamas, and shows island flora and scenery. The stamp affixed is a lovely WWF issue showing the Red-tailed Hawk.
