Kalahari, Rep. of South Africa

This awesome historical card was aquired recently.  It shows a traditional bow hunter from the Kalahari region, a shared ecosystem in S. Africa and neighboring Botswana.

This lovely card shows Kosi Bay, in the region of Maputoland, eastern kwaZulu-Natal province.

This card shows Howick Falls, in Kwa-Zulu-Natal Province. This waterfall is 310 feet in height and occurs on the Umgeni River. The lovely stamp below was affixed to the card, and shows a sunbird feeding on nectar.

This lovely wildlife card came to me from a friend in Cape Town and shows some of the large mammals characteristic of the South African veld and savannah regions, including lions, black rhino, elephants and a cheetah.

This fascinating stamp traces modern human ancestors from African hominid remains, underscoring Africa as the origin of early relatives of Homo sapiens.
